We Carry
Alot of technoloty goes into a making a pair
of K2 Skis. We want you to understand the skis
you are renting while in Aspen; here is a breakdown
of a few of the key components of K2 Skis.
| 1) MOD Technology: |
A secondary core in the ski
that absorbs vibration. To the skier this
means less skidding and more control |
| 2) MOD Monic: |
Similar to MOD Tec. MOD Monic provides dampening,
but in the precise location the ski needs
it most. |
| 3) Triaxial Braiding: |
Patented K2 technology that wraps the core
in fiberglass. Creating a durable ski with
more stability and energy! |
| 4) Torsion Box Construction: |
A combination of top sheet, glass, MOD Tec.,
glass, Triaxial Braiding, wood core, glass,
steel, and base, that creates a very versatile
ski. After all you are going to rent one ski
while you are here, it may as well be a versatile
all mountain beast! |
| 5) Metal Laminate Construction
: |
Similar to the Torsion Box but throw in
some titanium. If you want to rent a ski that
is stable at high speeds look for this construction. |
| 6) Progressive Side cut: |
Traditional parabolic skis had the same
side cut in the tip and tale, creating a completely
radial arc. This becomes overpowering in a
wide waisted ski. Hence the creation of skis
with a side cut that is less radical in the
tail, PS. The result is quicker turn initiation
with a smoother release in both powder and
crud. |
| 7) Bio Flex Core |
Two distinctly different types of wood that
flex differently based on where the ski needs
it. Spruce for a softer tip and tail, and
fir for a stable midsection underfoot. Creating
a core that is stable yet dynamic. |
