Ski Reports
Tuesday 11-29-05
Opening day was last Thursday, Thanksgiving, with top
to bottom skiing on both Snowmass and Aspen. Really
good early season conditions especially compared to
years past. We recieved almost 30 inches between Saturday
afternoon and Monday morning which has made for some
excellent skiing! Walshs was opened on Sunday afternoon
for the luck of about 30 locals who were there, it was
waist to chest deep. The legendary Glen plake was there
as well and of course somehow he new when the rope would
be dropped. The Back of Bell on Aspen opened Monday,
again great snow but a little thin near the bottom as
Bell is mid mountain, watch out for those rocks down
low still. The lower mountain on both Snowmass and Aspen
is still primarly man made snow and hard on the legs
after a long day of skiing on top so be careful down
there. Snow is in the forecast everyday until next Tuesday
so we should see more terrain openeing daily! The weather
has been unseasonably cold which is keeping what snow
we have in great shape. It is also allowing crews to
blow in the race course for the Womans World Cup December
9-11. Check back for the low down every week!
